Daniel Dennett's talk at AAI 07 is especially good. I'm loving these videos that are coming out of the conference. Dennett also wins the Richard Dawkins Award. Also features small parts by Julia Sweeney (I am eagerly awaiting her movie Letting Go of God) and Richard Dawkins.
(if you want to skip the introductions and get right to the lecture—I recommend that you don't, but if you do—it starts around 17 minutes)
I'm planning on attending Julia Sweeney's (of SNL fame) performance of Letting Go of God on Saturday (tickets still avaliable for the afternoon show here for those of you in Orange County or LA). The performance is going to be taped for release on DVD.
Letting Go of God details events in her life that lead her to reject the concept of a god and become an atheist. It's also out on CD.
UPDATE: It turns out I won't be attending after all. I couldn't find anyone willing (or if they were, they were unable) to attend with me. Going up to LA alone seems too depressing, so I'm just gunna let it slide. But you bet I'll be getting the DVD when it comes out.
For those of you in the area, I hope to see you there! Here is a clip of her performance given at TED:
