I've never understood the hype around shitty gadgets. 99% of these things suck, especially when it comes to phones, but people eat it up. The only "gadget" company I even care about anymore is Apple, who as far as I'm concerned is the only company that gives a rats ass about the quality of their products and for their customers. Which is why I was happy to see this angry article by former Gizmodo editor Joel Johnson scolding Gizmodo for perpetuating this shit and calling Gizmodo's readers "retarded salmon" for eating it.
You broke the site, clogging up the pipe like retarded salmon, to read the latest announcements of the most trivial jerk-off products, completely ignoring the stories about technology actually making a difference to real human beings, because you wanted a new chromed robot turd to put in your pocket to impress your friends and make you forget for just a few minutes, blood coursing as you tremblingly cut through the blister pack, that your life is utterly void of any lasting purpose.
Right on.
Put simply, Brian Lim is a douche. John Gruber names Brian Lim the jackass of the week, commenting,
I certainly didn’t believe that Apple was going to announce a major new product the Monday before Christmas, but it’s pretty fucking clear that’s exactly what Lam’s teaser was intended to imply. To claim now that it wasn’t shows that he’s a complete jackass.
In addition, Jeff Croft says,
I guess this is the difference between blogging and journalism.
