Comedian and Filmmaker Mark Malkoff wants to visit every Starbucks Coffee in Manhattan in a single day. With 171 stores to visit and 20 hours to do it in, will he make it?
Also, check out Creation Science 101 previously featured on this blog. Roy's album Faulty Intelligence is available on iTunes or his website.
We're actually more great apes, but, as we all know, the word "monkey" is far more funny. Oh, and there is a shot of Teller in there ... man, Teller is great.
Oh, the treacherous seas of social networking (not to mention the expanses of vast, empty wasteland). Across the sea of noobs and hidden behind the mountians of web 1.0 is the Icy North (Yahoo, Windows Live). The chain of chat room islands guards AOL. Myspace dominates the coastline of both the Sea of Noobs and the Gulf of YouTube while the Bay of Angst is surrounded by the shores of Xanga and LiveJournal. If you go far enough east, there be anthropomorphic dragons. Also available in glorious poster form. Remind me to buy it when I have some extra cash.
Oh, and I couldn't find Vox. Let me know if you spot it.
I'm planning on attending Julia Sweeney's (of SNL fame) performance of Letting Go of God on Saturday (tickets still avaliable for the afternoon show here for those of you in Orange County or LA). The performance is going to be taped for release on DVD.
Letting Go of God details events in her life that lead her to reject the concept of a god and become an atheist. It's also out on CD.
UPDATE: It turns out I won't be attending after all. I couldn't find anyone willing (or if they were, they were unable) to attend with me. Going up to LA alone seems too depressing, so I'm just gunna let it slide. But you bet I'll be getting the DVD when it comes out.
For those of you in the area, I hope to see you there! Here is a clip of her performance given at TED:
I am really looking forward to Doug Stanhope's bid for the White House in 2008. I think he has a real chance for at least bringing some attention to the libertarian perspective. Just maybe he'll shake up the horrible tragedy that is our elections. And maybe I'd actually feel good about voting. At the very least, it'd be cool to say I voted for a comedian.
